Whether you want to improve your general health or be a competitive athlete, obstacle training is a fun way to increase full-body strength, fitness and agility that appeals to all ages and people of all fitness levels. At OFCT all our classes are structured in such a way that anyone can take part.
OBSTACLE STRENGTH CLASS
these classes mostly comprise of strength exercises using weighted obstacles such as tyres and sandbags, as well as some grip training. They may include a slight fitness element but are predominantly strength-based.
OBSTACLE FITNESS CLASS
These classes are predominantly fitness based and include running and jumping (maybe a few burpees 😉 too) along with some technical training on the obstacles. They will make you fit very quickly!
FOUNDATIONAL MOVEMENT (CORE) CLASS
These classes include exercises that assist in improving one’s foundational strength by increasing mobility, strength and stability of the core, hip stabilizers and shoulder girdle. This training is beneficial for anyone, but it is essential in injury prevention for physically demanding sports such as OCR.
Our running sessions are held 3x per week and include a structured speed session, hill session and tempo/easy run, as well as a 5km time trial once a month. They work well in conjunction with the strength classes for those that want to be competitive or make big gains in their fitness levels.
Our Little Tigers classes focus on helping little ones improve muscle tone and increase full-body strength and co-ordination predominantly through structured body weight exercises, teamwork and play. They are catered for kids age 6-12yrs. We have recently introduced an extra class for level 2 Tigers who would like to up-skill themselves and perhaps try out a few OCR events in the future.
Our kids parties and somewhat customizable but generally include a semi-structured obstacle session, a couple fun games and/or races, and some obstacle free-play.
